Hello there Shreyas, great post, and given the relevance to my most recent article; I thought I’d drop a comment, introducing myself with said article:
“A casino in every town and in the pocket of every individual wasn’t legal or morally acceptable for almost all of human history, including Ancient Rome. Today, it is.”
I reckon it’s up for debate if today’s gambling culture is morally acceptable… Thanks for nerd sniping me with Ancient Rome x Contemporary Social Problem crossover.
(1) Making money by gambling used to be looked down on, now it’s celebrated, e.g. see finance TikTok (2) There aren’t any credible calls to ban gambling though millions of people are regularly engaged in it
